A tool shows the score, not the fix
A tracker tells you how often you're named and who's named instead. It doesn't change the answer. What does is the same work as before: accurate facts on your own website, complete listings on Google, Bing and Apple, and other sites writing about you. In an Ahrefs study of 75,000 brands, how often a brand was mentioned across the web was the factor most closely linked to appearing in Google's AI Overviews, ahead of backlinks.
So start with the free reports, check the answers yourself once a month with our guide to seeing what ChatGPT and Gemini say about your business, and pay for a tracker when doing it by hand takes longer than it's worth. If you're missing entirely, check that your website doesn't block the AI crawlers that matter and that your Google listing is complete.
This market moves fast: two of the best-known tools changed owners this year, and prices change every few months. We'll keep this comparison up to date, and the date at the top will tell you when we last checked.
